Kumar Paturi is a seasoned attorney with a broad range of expertise across criminal, employment, family, and elder law. As Of Counsel at Feldman, Kramer & Monaco P.C. since 2015, Kumar provides invaluable legal advice to union members, including negotiating severances, drafting trusts, and reviewing employment and corporate documents. Since founding his own practice in 2003, Kumar has built a reputation for handling complex litigation across Nassau, Queens, Kings, and New York Counties. His diverse practice includes civil, family, and criminal cases, as well as immigration and elder law matters. Kumar’s work has involved everything from drafting trusts and partnership agreements to teaching paralegal courses at CUNY Hostos, demonstrating his dedication to both legal practice and education.
Earlier in his career, as an Associate at Gilden, Zelenitz & Shapiro, Kumar excelled as lead trial counsel in personal injury cases, achieving notable victories including a high-profile acquittal in a week-long rape trial and a successful defense in a second-degree manslaughter case.
Kumar holds a JD degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he was involved in both the Criminal Clinic and School Law Clinic. His scholarly contributions include co-authoring a publication on resolving complaints from powerless trust beneficiaries. He earned his BA from New York University, where he was active in the Varsity Baseball Club and the Pre-Law Society.

Criminal Case
Kumar Paturi is defending Janmattie Singh, a former teacher charged with statutory rape, sexual misconduct, and endangering a child. Singh, who pleaded not guilty, is accused of sexual encounters with three teenagers. Paturi argues that Singh, who was on medical leave at the time, was exploited due to her mental health issues. He maintains her innocence and is considering plea negotiations.

People v. Richards: Obtained an acquittal for my client who was charged with second degree manslaughter, after trial the Jury acquitted my client of all charges.

People V. Hines: Kumar Paturi skillfully defended Leslie Hines, a massage therapist who was acquitted of all sexual assault charges.
